About this opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious professional to join our Finance Team as a Group Accountant to lead the financial management support for services including Public Health, Highways, Climate and Waste, Growth and Placemaking.
Our Finance Team provides financial management, reporting, accountancy and advice to directors, budget holders, elected Members, and stakeholders across the full range of services delivered by the Council.
Key responsibilities:
The Group Accountant will be responsible for managing and preparation of annual budgets both in the short term and medium term. Supporting services through providing technical, operational, and strategic advice. Lead on providing both revenue and capital budget support to stakeholders. This post will support mangers across the council so they can efficiently manager their budges to make strategic decisions to help deliver positive outcomes for Cumberland Council
Who we’re looking for:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation financial statement for Cumberland Council.
- Analyse financial results an provide insights to senior managers.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and tax reporting requirements.
- Manage a team of professionals within the department.
- Develop strong relationships across the council.
- Can provide specialist support to Members, Directors, and senior Managers.
