Job Title: Chef de Partie

Location: The Butterleigh, Inn, EX15 1PN

About Us: We are a renowned country pub and restaurant nestled in the heart of Mid Devon, celebrated for our dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences amidst the tranquil beauty of the countryside. With a focus on locally sourced ingredients and creative culinary expertise, we strive to provide our guests with memorable meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

Position Overview: Having recently been extensively refurbished and with extended dining hours we are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a vital member of our culinary brigade, you will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.


  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and fellow team members in all aspects of food preparation, ensuring adherence to our standards of excellence.
  • Execute assigned tasks efficiently and effectively in various sections of the kitchen, including but not limited to, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
  • Contribute to menu development and innovation, bringing fresh ideas and creative flair to our seasonal offerings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in your designated work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering to minimize waste and optimize kitchen operations.
  • Flexibility to undertake other duties as allocated by the Head Chef, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the kitchen and restaurant.


  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably within a similar upscale dining establishment.
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and a strong foundation in culinary fundamentals.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Dedication to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
  • Creative flair and a passion for culinary arts, with a keen interest in exploring new ingredients and techniques.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Hours: Up to 35 hours per week
