Full job description

Based in Lincoln, Tradeglaze is a growing, award-winning manufacturer and installer of bespoke windows and doors. We work with trade, commercial, and domestic customers across the Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and South Yorkshire regions to supply innovative high-end glazing solutions.

We are looking for Production Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Oversight: Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations for PVC and aluminium window/door production, ensuring timely and cost-effective output.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate production staff, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Quality Control: Ensure products meet industry standards and company specifications, addressing defects and implementing corrective actions.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with procurement and logistics to maintain optimal material levels and minimize downtime.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Monitor production costs and implement strategies to stay within budget while maintaining quality.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Track production metrics, analyse performance data, and report to senior management.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 5+ years in production management/supervision, preferably in PVC/aluminium window manufacturing or related industries, although this is not essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, train, and mentor a production team in a medium-sized manufacturing environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Quality-Driven: Commitment to maintaining high standards in product output.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent planning and multitasking abilities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Software Proficiency: Microsoft Excel

Would be advantageous

  • Technical Knowledge: An understanding of window fabrication processes (welding, assembly, glazing, etc.) for both PVC and aluminium systems.
  • Familiarity with production management software (ERP/MRP systems) is a plus.
