Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring quality and delivery of aspects of the service including Waste and Recycling collections, Special Uplifts and Bin deliveries.

The successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity to lead a large team within an operational service to make a difference by contributing to and improving the Councils Waste Transformation programme.

Requirements Educated to a relevant degree level or to a minimum of HNC/HND level in a Waste Operation related discipline and with proven extensive relevant similar managerial experience within a Waste Operation based industry, you will be an enthusiastic, committed and proactive individual with energy, ambition and ideas to take on a key leadership officer role managing and co-ordinating aspects of Waste Service operations.

You will have a broad experience and knowledge of overseeing an Waste operational team, experience of the Waste sector and a demonstrable understanding of best practice and innovation in Waste Collection Services operations together with an excellent working knowledge of health and safety and customer service and be able to lead on procurement processes.

You will have an ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively.

As an excellent effective communicator and self-motivator with the ability to deliver a business excellence approach to customer/stakeholder management you will have experience in budget managing / dealing with Elected members and monitoring the relevant standards associated with Waste Services activities applicable across Stirling Council.
