Full job description

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a confident, driven, and commercially minded Watch Buying Assistant to join our team.

Buying Assistant Job Overview:

You will assist with our pre-owned watch procurement process, reporting to our buying

manager to secure luxury watches from private clients.

Watchtrader & Co receives daily enquiries from the public to sell their luxury watches. We

receive requests via our website, on the phone, and through social media. We have a buyer

who manages and responds to selling enquiries; your job will be to assist them by

communicating with all relevant parties and processing the lead data through our buying

process. You will ensure the buyer has all the necessary information to make competitive

offers to convert leads into successful purchases.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Reviewing leads, following up non responders, and updating the buying manager.

2. Contacting clients by telephone after they have received a purchase offer.

3. Relaying client feedback to the buying manager to help secure deals.4. Booking appointments at our Newcastle and London boutiques.

5. Coordinating insured shipping and collection of watches.

6. Communicating with clients regarding payment progress and transaction updates.

7. Renegotiating consignment agreements with prior approval.

8. Maintaining accurate records using our in-house operating software.

9. Working closely with colleagues to ensure every buying opportunity is maximised.

10. Tracking the number of selling leads and the purchasing conversion rate.

11. Monitor website stock levels and identify gaps in inventory.

About You

Experience within the luxury watch industry is beneficial but not essential.

You will need to have:

1. Previous experience providing customer service on the phone.

2. Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person.

3. Strong organisational and administrative abilities.

4. Confidence working in a fast-paced environment.

5. Good computer literacy including Excel and Google Sheets with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

6. A professional and personable approach when dealing with high-value clients.

7. A genuine desire to exceed targets and continuously improve performance.
