Waste, Water Treatment Plant Operator
Location: Carrickmacross
Hours: 42 hours a week

We’re looking for a motivated Waste, Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our Carrickmacross site. This permanent, hands-on role offers the opportunity to take ownership of plant performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement in water and waste management.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain effluent treatment plant operations, ensuring discharge remains within EPA IEL & regulatory licence parameters.
  • Accurately measure, record, and report environmental data (COD, BOD, pH, temperature, flow) for internal and external compliance.
  • Create, update, and implement procedures for plant operation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct daily floor audits to support environmental management systems and reduce waste.
  • Lead initiatives for water reduction, chemical optimization, and waste elimination.
  • Support audits, site inspections, and reporting for environmental performance.
  • Collaborate across teams to promote proactive, practical solutions that enhance site efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3–5 years’ industrial or Waste, Water Treatment experience.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 14001 systems and environmental legislation.
  • Hands-on problem-solving and autonomous maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel; ability to create work instructions and reports.
  • Ability to work independently, plan effectively, and communicate clearly with the team.
  • A proactive, practical mindset with a “can-do” approach.

Qualifications (desirable):

  • ECDL certification.
  • EMS Internal Auditing experience.
