Job Title: eCommerce Manager
Location: Tillicoultry, Scotland (Hybrid may be considered)
Job Type: Full-time (6-9 months fixed term contract)
Department: eCommerce and Digital Marketing
Reports to: Head of eCommerce
Salary: Competitive

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven eCommerce Manager to join the Sterling Home team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and execution of our eCommerce business, driving online sales, and enhancing the customer experience. The eCommerce Manager will collaborate with marketing, buying and merchandising, IT, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless online shopping experience while meeting business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

eCommerce Strategy & Execution:
Develop and execute a comprehensive eCommerce strategy, including customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and overall online brand presence.

Website Management:
Oversee daily operations of the Sterling Home website, ensuring site performance, functionality, and optimisation for user experience (UX) and search engine optimisation (SEO).

Sales Growth:
Drive online revenue growth by improving the conversion rate, average order value (AOV), and customer lifetime value (CLV) while ensuring a high customer satisfaction rate.

Merchandising:
Work closely with the product and merchandising teams to ensure the accurate display of product details, pricing, promotions, and inventory levels.

Digital Marketing & Campaigns:
Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to create, manage, and optimise online advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.), email marketing, and other traffic-driving efforts.

Analytics & Reporting:
Track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including traffic, conversion rates, and revenue. Use data to drive decisions and continuously improve the site’s performance.

Customer Experience:
Ensure a seamless and intuitive customer experience, from site navigation to checkout, minimising cart abandonment rates and increasing overall satisfaction.

Partnerships & Vendor Management:
Manage third-party vendors, including eCommerce platform providers, payment processors, and SaaS providers to ensure timely and quality service delivery.

SEO & Content Optimization:
Ensure that the website is optimised for search engines, including keyword research, on-page SEO, and content optimisation. Work with content teams to develop engaging and informative product descriptions, landing pages, and blog posts.

Inventory & Fulfilment:
Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth order processing, fulfilment, and inventory management.

Technology & Platform Management:
Stay up-to-date with eCommerce technologies and best practices. Provide recommendations for upgrades or platform changes as necessary.

Experience:
-Proven experience as an eCommerce Manager or similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
-Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, uCommerce/Umbraco) and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
-Experience with digital marketing channels such as PPC, SEO, email, and social media.
-Excellent knowledge of website management and optimisation best practices.
-Knowledge of UX/UI principles and design thinking.
-Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
-Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and A/B testing.
-Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, IT, and operations teams.
-Excellent project management and organisational skills.
-Strong communication and leadership skills.
