What you'll do
Hybrid role working from home with travel to our Hub offices in Bridgwater or Northampton.
At Toolstation, we’re not just focused on what you can bring to the table today; we’re invested in nurturing your talents to help you grow within our business and become one of our future leaders. In this apprenticeship role, you’ll become an essential part of our Customer and Marketing team, gaining hands-on experience and building a strong foundation in customer-led marketing through the apprenticeship Master Classes.
Our Multi-Channel Marketing Apprenticeship Programme is delivered by an Ofsted outstanding training provider and you will learn whilst you earn. The course will see you mastering everything from Brand Management, Offline Marketing, Content Creation, SEO and Web Design, an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Data Driven Campaigns and a Google Analytics masterclass, setting you up with the foundations for a career in Marketing. You will be attending 2 online training sessions every 4-6 weeks, gaining nationally recognised qualifications such as the Google Analytics 4 certificate, learning how to use technologies that are essential to success both on and offline and then putting your learning into practice on the job in the following ways:
Delivering and evaluating strategic marketing initiatives, preparing written plans, evaluation documents, presentations, and reports.
Research and analysis. You’ll use survey tools, keyword research, and other resources to help shape our marketing strategy and guide our future direction.
Content creation and management will be a central responsibility. You’ll work with the team to source, create, and edit content for various online and offline channels, including websites, social media, emails, and events. Ensuring that our content aligns with our brand guidelines and ESG agenda will also be part of your duties.
Identifying emerging trends and technologies, you will help keep us at the forefront of industry developments, providing insights that grow our market share in a rapidly changing landscape.
What you'll bring
Passion for Marketing and Customer Engagement: You might have studied for GCSEs or A Levels in Business Studies or gained some work experience. Your enthusiasm for the subject will need to be evident.
Strong Communication Skills: You excel at conveying information both in writing and in person. You can read between the lines and build strong working relationships, earning trust and credibility.
Technical Competence: You’re not only computer literate, you have an interest and a desire to learn digital marketing tools, social media platforms, Excel and CRM systems.
Organisational Skills and Attention to Detail: Accuracy is key as you’ll be producing reports, presentations, and data. You’ll also need to juggle multiple tasks and projects, ensuring everything progresses smoothly.
Adaptability: You’re open to changing your approach when necessary, willing to learn new methods, and mature enough to accept and grow from critical feedback.
Educational Requirements: A minimum of GCSEs in Maths and English. Those with a degree level marketing qualifications or more than 6 months experience in a marketing or digital marketing role, would not be eligible for the apprenticeship programme.
What you'll get
At Toolstation, you’ll have every opportunity to express your personality and potential at work. There are numerous opportunities to advance your career, whether that’s moving up the ladder, transitioning across the business, or exploring roles within the Travis Perkins Group. We’re committed to supporting your apprenticeship and offering various training and development opportunities.
You’ll also enjoy some of the best benefits in retail. In addition to 22 days of holiday plus bank holidays, a company pension scheme, and life assurance, we offer a bonus scheme, cycle-to-work program, Save As You Earn options, 20% discounts across all Travis Perkins companies, financial education and support, recognition awards, and discounts at over 1,000 other retailers.
