Full job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Full stack Engineer to join our Research & Development (R&D) team at Kinetic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in React and experience with full stack development working in a cloud native environment, collaborating within a truly agile cross-functional environment. You'll be at the forefront of user-centred design and iterative development and have the appetite to deliver industry leading software solutions and ensuring their successful delivery. As the lead engineer within the multi-disciplinary tribe for our Commercial products streams, you’ll be ensuring we are delivering high-quality products that meet our customers' needs. You’ll ensure we keep track to our product roadmaps, through the rationalisation of requirements and planning the best course to implementation. Working closely with the Head of Commercial Product, you will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers to creating and maintain a professional and driven culture within the team, where individuals take ownership and are proud of delivering excellence.

Essential skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Excellent technical skills – You are confident, friendly, and relatable with an exceptional proficiency in developing and maintaining user-friendly and responsive web applications with a solid knowledge of React. With a good understanding of common security issues.
  • Technical leadership – Provide technical leadership and an aptitude for line management, mentoring and support of technical team members.
  • Planning and organisation – Successfully manage your own and project team time and tasks, who can organise their workload and priorities effectively to lead and deliver projects efficiently to meet timelines needed in the business.
  • Attention to detail – You do sweat the small stuff, have high standards for end user experiences, and really care about the quality of your, and others, work.
  • Product interest – You have a keen interest in our products and how the customers use them and use feedback and innovation to contribute to the product roadmap.
  • Problem solving – You are creative in your approach to problem solving and pre-empting problems. Able to identify and orchestrate the resolution of performance and security issues.
  • Collaboration - Working within a multidisciplinary team, including product owners, back-end developers and designers, you’ll need to work closely to integrate front-end and back-end functionality to achieve the requirements to produce user focused solutions. Good communication skills are essential.
  • Quality and scalability - Supporting the team to deliver clean, efficient and secure code and ensure the code is scalable and maintainable.
  • Leverage modern technological practices - Stay up to date with new trends and technologies in front-end development.

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Experience of working with micro frontend architectures.
  • C# or Golang experience.
  • Developing on a cloud infrastructure.
  • Exposure to building software for the hospitality or student accommodation sectors.
