The Contini family have been looking after customers in Scotland for over 100 years. Third generation Italian-Scots who are dedicated to sourcing and serving the very best food, with a true passion for hospitality. Their successful family-run business comprises three award-winning restaurants all located in the heart of Edinburgh: Contini on George Street; The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant at the Scottish National Gallery on The Mound; and Cannonball Restaurant & Bar.

We are recruiting an experienced Marketing Manager to join our established, experienced team. This post is full time (45 hours per week) and the suitable candidate must be able to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining high standards and excellent customer service.

Our Restaurants are open evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service and cooperation is required to cover any absence throughout the business. This job description is not necessarily an exhaustive list of duties but is intended to reflect the range of duties that the post holder will perform.

Purpose of the role:

To deliver the Marketing & PR strategies, generating revenue across all Contini Restaurants and Contini Events.

Main Duties:

  • All tasks associated with Marketing our Brand, Vision and Values
  • Managing and coordinating all marketing campaigns
  • This includes monitoring ongoing performance reporting, training the restaurant teams on the campaigns and setting up on different channels as required
  • Develop a compelling digital and social media content that encourages engagement, brand awareness and consideration. Including scheduling content, monitoring engagement and analysing performance metrics. Must be skilled in taking good photography to show off the product as well as taking creative videos.
  • Drive the conversation and engage with users across social media - Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok & Threads
  • Manage and update our own Website content and other external websites such as Google, Resdiary and Tripadvisor
  • Manage and update Shopify
  • Provide monthly Marketing reports
  • Write content for monthly newsletters for surrounding concierges
  • Work closely with key Partners to Market offerings
  • Coordinate all media and blogger visits
  • General adhoc photography as required
  • Issuing and checking all venue marketing, including posters, menu displays and any event collateral, monthly new menu launches
  • Coordinator / Event planner for all PR events and key accounts - inc Self created events
  • Market research: pricing and product
  • Provide general support to the head office team as required

Key Skills:

  • Understanding of brand identity and tone of voice
  • Proficient in key social media platforms is essential
  • Copywriting skills to ensure a quick turnaround with web content, social media and email campaigns where required
  • Design skills using software like Canva and InDesign are essential
  • Video creation and editing skills are essential

What you’ll need to bring to the Marketing Manager role:

  • 2 years + digital marketing experience, preferably in the food and drink industry
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work at pace, whilst delivering excellent quality and commercial results
  • A passion for exciting and enthusing their audience and driving action through digital channels
  • Passionate about creating exciting content; photos and videos, ensuring they are right on brand.
  • A high performer that’s always looking for a better way to do things. You like it when your work stands out from the crowd
  • Excellent attention to detail
