The individual must be located in the UK and within a commutable distance of Royal Leamington Spa.

We have a great opportunity for an full-time, Junior Developer to join the Magnetar IT team. This is a new role within the company where you will be able to become a key member of the project team and be responsible for delivering customer projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python: Strong programming skills in Python, including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure. This includes knowledge of core services like compute (EC2, Azure VMs), storage (S3, Azure Storage), networking (VPC, Azure Virtual Network), and databases (RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Containerisation and Orchestration: Understanding of containerisation technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerised applications.
  • Serverless Computing: Knowledge of serverless computing concepts and services like AWS Lambda and Azure Functions for building and deploying event-driven applications.
  • APIs and Web Services: Experience with designing, consuming, and integrating APIs and web services in Python applications.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in working with databases, both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB).
  • Security Best Practices: Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance standards.


  • Develop and maintain Python-based applications: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient Python applications to meet business requirements.
  • Cloud infrastructure management: Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Integration with cloud services: Integrate Python applications with various cloud services such as databases, storage, messaging, and compute services.
  • No Code and Low Code: Design, implement and maintain scalable solutions using No Code and Low Code.
  • Optimisation and performance tuning: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise applications for improved efficiency and scalability in cloud environments.
  • Security and compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in cloud deployments.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting: Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure reliability and availability in cloud environments.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing: Document design, implementation, and deployment processes, and share knowledge with team members to promote best practices and continuous learning.
