PHP Developer

The Education and Skills Partnership Limited, are seeking to recruit PHP Developer reporting to the Head of IT. Based in Head office in Ashford, Kent.

Job Overview
We are seeking a talented PHP Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality web applications using PHP programming language. As a PHP Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Minimum of 2 years of PHP development experience. If you are passionate about technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

This role involves working on various bespoke in-house PHP Laravel projects. The PHP Laravel Developer will collaborate closely with the Head of IT to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on Projects as required for the business
  • Communicating regularly with clients and customers based on the completion of tasks
  • Actively participate in standups, team meetings and strategy meetings to highlight best practices and changes
  • Write tests to ensure each element of the system works accordingly
  • Develop, test, and deploy custom web applications using PHP
  • Collaborate with team members to define project requirements
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance
  • Implement data visualisation techniques to present information effectively
  • Ensure web applications are responsive and adhere to best practices in responsive web design.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Efficient understanding of PHP and using the Laravel Framework
  • Able to demonstrate efficiency in TALL (Tailwind, Alpine, Livewire, Laravel) Stack Development
  • Working knowledge of branching and using Git version control.
  • Team player who enjoys problem solving.
  • Be able to communicate efficiently with Clients and Customers
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Knowledge or an interest in cloud development.
  • Able to work independently on Projects to a high standard
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must provide qualifications/certificates including English and Maths.


  • Comprehensive knowledge of PHP and Laravel framework.
  • Familiarity with web development best practices and design patterns.
  • Understanding of software testing and quality assurance methodologies.
