Overview

We’re a small creative team based near Southend-on-Sea in Essex. We have been established for over 15 years and are looking for an experienced web developer to develop new websites and web based systems and maintain existing client sites and systems.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in developing WordPress websites including theme and plugin development and building web-based applications using Laravel.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in PHP and WordPress development
  • Solid experience of WordPress and WooCommerce development, JS Frameworks and MySQL, HTML5, CSS3(Sass or LESS), JavaScript (jQuery)
  • Experience integrating Api's & Auth workflows
  • Experience with Laravel a plus
  • A good understanding of version control, debugging techniques and testing processes, NPM packages and frontend dev tools
  • Experience of integrating payment systems such as Stripe and PayPal
  • Proficient in modern front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap
  • Proficient with responsive layouts and across-screen performance
  • Knowledge of web hosting and server set-up and management

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain high-quality WordPress websites, ensuring responsiveness and optimal performance.
  • Develop pixel perfect themes from wireframes and Figma design templates
  • Test and improve the code of our existing client websites and web software
  • Work with clients to assess the need for any development works required

This is an office-based role, Monday-Friday.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9.00 - 5.30pm
