Full job description

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Marketing Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: £30-£40k

About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven Paid Media Growth Manager to own and drive paid advertising performance across Google Ads and Meta Ads for our client portfolio. Reporting to the marketing manager, this person will be the day-to-day strategic lead on paid media, responsible for campaign performance, budget efficiency, and identifying growth opportunities for every assigned client. This is a strategist-first role. The expectation is roughly 10 to 20 per cent hands-on execution time, focused on the biggest and most complex accounts, with the remaining 80 to 90 per cent spent on analysis, optimisation strategy, and commercial outcomes. Routine campaign setup and administration are delegated to a supporting execution resource, allowing this role to concentrate on the most impactful work for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Strategy & Performance

  • Own overall paid advertising performance across Google Ads and Meta Ads for each assigned client
  • Continuously monitor campaign performance, identifying underperforming campaigns and campaigns ready to scale.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve ROI and CPA across all accounts.
  • Set the playbook and campaign structure that a supporting execution team implements, and quality-control their work.

Budget & Bid Management

  • Manage budget allocation across campaigns, ad groups, and platforms based on performance data.
  • Control CPA and direct spending toward the highest-performing opportunities.
  • Reallocate budget proactively in response to performance shifts, scaling spend where advertising fee structures allow more senior involvement.

Tracking & Measurement

  • Set up, audit, and maintain accurate conversion tracking across platforms.
  • Identify and fix tracking problems (e.g., broken pixels, misattributed conversions, tagging issues), raising tickets to the technical/web team for anything requiring code or integration changes.
  • Ensure data integrity to support confident, data-driven decision-making.

Optimisation & Analysis

  • Analyse search term and keyword performance, refining targeting and negative keyword lists at a strategic level
  • Conduct an analysis of landing page performance and recommend or implement optimisations to improve conversion rates.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and new opportunities within account data to drive client growth, rather than simply pulling reports.

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Report on campaign performance, ROI, and key metrics to the Marketing Manager and account managers.
  • Translate performance data into clear, actionable recommendations for client-facing conversations.
  • Join client calls directly where account size or complexity justifies it.
  • Partner with account managers, content, and design teams to align paid media strategy with broader client goals.
  • Flag capacity risks to the marketing manager if sold volume exceeds what can be properly delivered.

Expectations

  • Own the commercial outcome of paid media for each client, not just campaign mechanics.
  • Stay hands-on only where judgment genuinely changes the result: the largest and most complex accounts.
  • Delegate and systemise routine execution (campaign setup, keyword implementation, day-to-day budget housekeeping) rather than absorb it personally.
  • Interpret data rather than report it: every analysis should end in a recommendation or action.
  • Maintain a clear escalation path for tracking or technical difficulties, with a documented ticket rather than an informal conversation.
  • Keep account managers informed and equipped to have confident, accurate conversations with clients.

KPIs

  • Return on ad spend (ROAS) and cost per acquisition (CPA), tracked against targets per client.
  • Conversion rate and volume from paid campaigns, including landing page conversion rate
  • Speed of identifying and reallocating budget away from underperforming campaigns
  • Speed of identifying and scaling high-performing campaigns
  • Conversion tracking accuracy and uptime (time to identify and resolve tracking issues)
  • Percentage of hands-on time spent on the largest/most complex accounts versus routine execution (target: 10 to 20 per cent hands-on)
  • Client retention and satisfaction tied to paid media performance
  • On-time delivery of monthly performance reports and analysis

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Clients show sustained improvement in ROI and CPA across the portfolio, not just spend growth.
  • Underperforming campaigns are identified and corrected quickly; scaling opportunities are acted on before they are missed.
  • Conversion tracking is accurate and reliable, with issues caught and resolved fast.
  • Monthly reports are clear, insightful, and give account managers what they need to communicate with clients confidently.
  • Budget allocation decisions are visibly tied to performance data and improve account results over time.
  • The Marketing Manager has visibility into where specialist time is going and can trust that strategic priorities (not just execution tasks) are being addressed.
