Roles of this type sit within collaborative, innovation-focused teams working on modern web technologies. You could be involved in developing and maintaining frontend solutions using React, contributing to microservices architectures, and working alongside backend teams to deliver integrated systems. The work could span across multiple client projects, with exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, and exposure to CI/CD pipelines that support rapid, quality-focused delivery.

Typical role overview

  • Type: Contract · Full-time
  • Day Rate: £600–800 per day (or £250–280 per day depending on contract terms)
  • Domain: Frontend Development · Web Applications

What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Building and maintaining responsive web applications using React and modern JavaScript
  • Collaborating with backend developers to integrate APIs and microservices
  • Writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews
  • Contributing to the development of frontend solutions that align with user needs and business objectives
  • Working within CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment
  • Supporting cross-functional teams to deliver quality frontend solutions on schedule

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • Proficiency in React and modern JavaScript (including JSE certification or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of web APIs, microservices integration and RESTful principles
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines and collaborative development workflows
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Nice-to-have skills include experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerisation technologies; knowledge of responsive design and accessibility standards; experience with TypeScript; or certifications such as the Meta Front-End Developer Certificate or Google Mobile Web Specialist qualification.

What roles of this type could offer

Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

  • Exposure to modern technology stacks and the opportunity to develop expertise across React, microservices and cloud platforms
  • Collaborative working environments where you could contribute ideas and take ownership of frontend components
  • Potential to work across diverse client projects, broadening your experience and technical capability
  • Contract flexibility and competitive day rates reflecting market demand for skilled frontend developers
