Overview
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Cornwall based Marketing Manager to join our team for 12 months maternity cover. You will be responsible for the strategy and delivery of all aspects of our marketing including; website content and performance, communications including email newsletters, advertising, social media and keeping our brand consistent. You’ll brief and manage specialists in website development, copywriting, photography and digital advertising — and you'll be a valued part of a happy, values-driven business.

The role
This is a multi-disciplinary role and you will be involved in both the strategic planning and delivery of all aspects of marketing for the business, reporting directly to the General Manager. You will direct and support an established team of specialists; an in-house writer, out-house Adwords professional, web developer, and photography team. The ideal candidate will be a confident marketer with a knowledge of the tools and techniques of marketing especially in the digital sphere. You'll be a clear communicator, a versatile and inspiring thinker — as well as keen to be part of the small, friendly and committed team that takes the business to the next level.
Specific responsibilities
- Website content, performance and user experience
- Manage social media channels
- Newsletter marketing
- Digital and print advertisement
- Oversee the annual marketing budget
Skills and attributes
- At least three years professional experience
- Understanding of the travel & tourism sector, specifically holiday accommodation
- Excellent written English, both clear and creative
- Good all-round IT skills and experience using InDesign
- Understanding of brands and an eye for design and image
- Thorough hands-on understanding of Wordpress
- Good understanding of SEO and analytics
- A good head for data and ability to spot trends and opportunities
- Basic understanding of Google Adwords, Search Console and Tag Manager
- Excellent organisational skills
- Efficient and able to work well under pressure, both individually and as part of a team
- Confident in creating engaging social media content, including but not limited to Instagram stories, reels and TikTok’s
- Good at multitasking and prioritising workload tasks based on business demands
- Good knowledge of Cornwall as holiday destination
- Full, clean driving licence and own transport (mileage paid)
Other information and benefits
- Salary £30,000 — £34,000 depending on experience
- Full time 37.5 hours, 5 days a week
- 20 days annual holiday + bank holidays
- Business driving expenses 45p/mile
- Workplace pension
- Must be Cornwall based
