We’re a very creative & equally innovate bunch looking for a developer with a few years of experience under their belt for WordPress and Web Development. You’ll need to enjoy working in a collaborative & high paced environment where no two days are the same, be excited about a constantly evolving tech stack and be able to cope with juggling multiple projects on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• WordPress website and Web application development
• Conversions from designed elements to HTML/React or Blade components
• Test, fix and support for new and existing websites & web applications
• Help ensure deadlines are met for the team
• Follow strict coding and quality standards for the company
• QC and quality control management for projects
• Take ownership of projects, overseeing and architecting complex and bespoke codebases
• Ensuring platforms are efficient and performant

Required Technical Skills

• Experience with WordPress
• PHP and OOP PHP
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, or MariaDB
• Version Control system such as GitHub and bitbucket
• HTML, CSS, Tailwind, SCSS
• JavaScript
• JS compilers & bundlers such as gulp or web pack
• Proficiency in LEMP stack deployments or cPanel/WHM experience
• Experience with plugins like ACF, Gravity Forms and Yoast SEO (among others)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and modern coding practices
• Understanding of SEO best practices & performance optimisation
• An obsessive eye for detail
• Organisational skills
• Debugging JS and PHP
• The ability to work to strict deadlines
• Ability to work at multiple projects in a
• Managing packages and libraries via compose and yarn/npm
• Peer-to-peer code reviews
• Maintaining a high level of bug-free code

General understanding of

• API use and creation
• Design principles such as MVC & MVVM
• PWA development
• CI/CD processes
• Servers / Deployment processes and architecture
• Knowledge of cloud services and deployment pipelines
• Animation libraries such as GSAP, Framer Motion etc.
• Experience with integrating external APIs such as Marketing platforms, payment gateways etc.

Good to have Skills

• Experience with Node.js based frameworks.
• Experience with Laravel PHP based applications
• Experience with React JS
• Experience with Typescript
• Server side or Linux knowledge

Our working week is 35.5 hours, and the core hours are 10:00 - 16:00, so you can start and finish whenever you want, provided you’re working during those hours. Friday’s also have the bonus of being able to finish at 15:30.

The role comes with 28 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), plus for every year of your services your holiday allowance increases by a day. You also get an additional day off on your birthday to celebrate (or mourn) being a year older.
