Mid-weight Artworker/Designer
Job details
Full job description
We are looking for a hands-on, multi-skilled artworker /designer to join our marketing and design team. You will produce accurate, on-brand technical artwork, alongside a broad mix of print and digital design.
You will report directly to the Head of Marketing and Design and work closely with the Lead Designer. Your work will range from product data sheets, installation guides and packaging to website updates and presentations. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in precise finished artwork and thrives as part of a supportive team.
Key responsibilities
Technical artwork
- Artwork technical documents: product data sheets, specification sheets, installation and user guides, manuals and instruction leaflets
- Produce supporting instructional and promotional videos
- Check and proof all artwork for accuracy, consistency and brand compliance before release
- Maintain and update existing documents, templates and artwork libraries, keeping version control tidy
Multi-channel design
- Update and edit website content and pages, including WordPress
- Design and build presentations and templates
- Produce sales and marketing collateral and brochures
- Support with LinkedIn post artwork when needed
Working with the team
- Liaise with team members to understand briefs, workflow and requirements
- Manage several projects at once, using project management tools to keep priorities organised (predominantly Smartsheet - training provided)
- Resolve issues with work produced quickly and calmly
- Attend regular team meetings to share work, ideas and progress
- Support the Lead Designer on larger projects and pick up work flexibly as priorities change
- Use AI tools responsibly to speed up workflow and explore ideas, while keeping quality and brand standards high
Knowledge, qualifications and experience
Essential
- 2+ years' experience in a design, artworking or studio role
- Proven experience art working technical or detail-heavy documents (data sheets, manuals, packaging or similar)
- Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly presentations
- Solid understanding of print production: bleed, colour profiles, CMYK/RGB/Pantone, preflight and supplier specs
- Working knowledge of AI tools for design and marketing (such as Claude, Copilot, Adobe Firefly, 11Labs and Magnific), with a forward-thinking, adaptable attitude to new technology.
- Experience producing work in both print and digital formats
- A portfolio that shows accurate finished artwork as well as creative range
- Authorization to work indefinitely in the UK without restriction or sponsorship.
Desirable
- Video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Website editing experience, ideally WordPress
- Experience in a B2B, product, manufacturing or retail environment – an advantage
- Basic animation – an advantage
Personal qualities and competencies
Being a genuine team player is the most important quality for this role. We are a small team that relies on each other, so attitude matters as much as skill.
- A true team player: supportive, approachable and happy to pitch in wherever needed
- A natural multitasker who stays calm and organised when juggling several deadlines
- A hard-working, reliable self-starter who takes ownership and sees jobs through
- Meticulous attention to detail; you spot the wrong part number, the misaligned line and the missing trademark
- Happy to take direction and feedback, and knows when to raise something with senior colleagues
- Clear communicator, confident sharing work with the wider team
- Highly adaptable, keen to learn new skills, tools and technologies, including AI
- Interest in design trends, balanced with a practical, brand-first approach
