Full-Time Wedding Porter & Maintenance Assistant – Leez Priory

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and being part of unforgettable wedding days?

We’re looking for a Full-Time Wedding Porter to join our team at Leez Priory, supporting the smooth running of weddings and events at our beautiful venue.

This is a varied, hands-on role split between supporting the venue's maintenance function and assisting with the preparation and delivery of weddings and events. You'll work closely with our Maintenance Manager helping to maintain the venue, accommodation and grounds, whilst also supporting room turnarounds, event set-up and the smooth running of wedding days.

As part of the role, you should be comfortable undertaking both physical event set-up duties and basic maintenance tasks.

Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (including weekends)

Days off: 2 days per week on a rota basis

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Support

Assist the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day upkeep of the venue, accommodation and grounds

Carry out basic maintenance tasks, minor repairs and preventative maintenance activities

Report maintenance issues and help ensure they are resolved promptly

Assist with deliveries, stock movements and general site duties

Support health and safety checks and help maintain high standards across the estate.

Event Setup & Breakdown

Set up ceremony and reception spaces in line with event requirements.

Move furniture, tables, chairs and equipment as required.

Complete room turnarounds efficiently between weddings and events.

Support the venue team with the physical preparation of wedding spaces before and after events.

Guest & Team Support

Assist the wedding, bar, and housekeeping teams throughout events Respond promptly to requests from colleagues and guests

Help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all visitors

Venue Presentation

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the venue

Keep public areas tidy and well-organised throughout the day

Support with general upkeep to ensure the venue looks its best

General Duties

Carry out ad hoc tasks to support the wider team

Assist with deliveries and stock movement where needed

Ensure all equipment is stored safely and correctly

About You

Experience in a maintenance, porter, facilities or practical hands-on role would be advantageous.

Comfortable balancing maintenance responsibilities with wedding and event operational duties.

Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic

Comfortable with manual handling and physical work

Reliable and flexible, particularly with weekend working A team player who enjoys working in a busy environment

Takes pride in maintaining high standards
