Looking to start or grow your career in the kitchen?

We're looking for a Breakfast Chef Assistant / Trainee Chef to join our friendly independent café. Whether you already have kitchen experience or you're keen to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll work alongside our Breakfast Chef during our busiest weekend services, learning the role and building your confidence. As your experience grows, you'll occasionally run the kitchen independently during quieter weekday shifts, with full support and training provided.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, works well under pressure and wants to develop their skills in a busy café environment.

Hours

• Part-time
• Weekend shifts every Saturday and Sunday
• Additional weekday shifts available
• Approximately 8–16 hours per week (depending on availability)
• Immediate start available
• Extra hours available during holidays, busy periods and events

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with preparing and cooking breakfast dishes
• Working alongside the Breakfast Chef during busy services
• Helping prepare ingredients for breakfast and lunch
• Learning to manage the kitchen and service
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked
• Following food safety and hygiene procedures
• Occasionally running the kitchen on quieter weekday shifts once fully trained

Who We're Looking For

• Someone with previous kitchen experience or someone looking to begin a career as a chef
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn
• Calm under pressure and able to work in a busy environment
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Good attention to detail and food hygiene
• A positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team
