Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Weekend Kennel Assistant, including sleep-over duties, and become a vital part of providing exceptional care for our furry guests! This energetic role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with animals, ensuring their comfort, safety, and happiness during their stay. Whether you’re assisting with daily routines or providing overnight supervision, your dedication will make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This paid position is perfect for animal lovers eager to gain hands-on experience in animal care and customer service. A sleep-over allowance is included and will be arranged during the interview.

Duties

  • Provide attentive care to dogs and other animals staying at the kennel, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning kennels, bedding, and common areas regularly
  • Monitor animals’ behavior and health throughout their stay, noting any concerns or changes for veterinary review
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures for pet owners, ensuring smooth communication and excellent customer service
  • Oversee overnight sleep-over duties by supervising animals in a calm environment, responding promptly to any needs or emergencies
  • Handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving large kennels, supplies, or equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow all safety protocols and veterinary guidelines to ensure the well-being of animals in your care

Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification Animal Care (Minimum)
  • Strong passion for animal welfare with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to provide friendly, professional customer service to pet owners and visitors
  • Willingness to perform heavy lifting tasks safely as part of daily responsibilities
  • Reliable, responsible, and comfortable working independently during overnight shifts
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overnight shifts as required
