Marie’s Tearoom is looking for a reliable and capable Weekend Cook to join our team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy tearoom environment, can prepare food to a good standard, and is confident supporting a small team during weekend service.

The role will mainly involve preparing and serving breakfast, lunches, light meals, cakes, afternoon teas and event food, while helping to keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly.

We are looking for someone who can work weekends and who is happy to support the wider tearoom when needed, including helping with drinks, clearing tables or supporting front of house during busy periods.

Main duties will include:

Preparing and cooking food for tearoom service

Supporting weekend breakfasts, lunches, light meals and afternoon teas

Preparing food for parties, events and bookings when required

Following food hygiene and allergen procedures

Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised

Monitoring stock levels and communicating what is needed

Supporting with washing up, cleaning and end-of-day tasks

Helping front of house when needed, including drinks, clearing tables and customer service

Working with the team to maintain good standards and smooth service

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable and punctual

Confident preparing food in a kitchen environment

Able to work calmly during busy periods

Clean, organised and practical

Friendly and willing to support the wider team

Able to follow procedures and instructions

Aware of food hygiene, allergens and customer care

Essential requirements:

Experience preparing food in a kitchen, café, tearoom or similar environment

Weekend availability

Good hygiene standards

Ability to work as part of a small team

A positive and professional attitude

Desirable but not essential:

Food hygiene certificate

Experience baking

Experience preparing afternoon teas

Experience in a café, tearoom or hospitality setting

Barista or drinks preparation experience

This is a weekend role, with the possibility of additional hours during busy periods, events, holidays and staff cover.
