Full job description

Purpose of the role

To deliver an exceptional, knowledgeable retail experience to every customer, supporting them to find the right running products, footwear and apparel; and to keep the shop floor and stockroom running safely, accurately and to RNW's brand standard.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome customers warmly and provide expert, unbiased advice on running footwear, apparel, nutrition and accessories.
  • Carry out gait analysis and shoe fittings to a high standard, applying current training and product knowledge.
  • Process sales transactions accurately on the point of sale system, including refunds and exchanges in line with company policy.
  • Replenish stock on the shop floor, ensure displays meet visual merchandising standards, and keep the shop tidy and customer-ready.
  • Receive, check, label and put away deliveries, raising any discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with stocktakes, cycle counts and price-change activity.
  • Keep the shop, stockroom, fitting areas and welfare areas clean, safe and tidy.
  • Build product knowledge through supplier training, sampling and in-store learning.
  • Promote RNW events, club activity and community initiatives to customers.
  • Carry out reasonable additional duties as directed by the duty manager.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • A genuine interest in running and the running community.
  • Strong customer service skills — friendly, approachable, attentive.
  • Good verbal communication and active listening.
  • Comfortable using Point of sale, email and basic IT.
  • Reliable, punctual and a strong team player.
  • Willing to learn and happy to undertake all training required for the role.
  • Eligible to work in the UK (subject to right-to-work check).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple departments as required.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in retail (ideally specialist).
  • Personal running experience or background in run coaching.

Pay: £8.00-£13.00 per hour
