Full job description

Ready to Own the Floor? Guest/Client focus Pub-Food & Beverage Team Leader Needed for Revitalised Euston Pub/Venue.

About Us

The Square Tavern has a new look and a new vision. We are transforming this historic Euston site into a premium destination for lunch, dinner, and private events. We need a front-of-house leader who matches our ambition.

The Opportunity
Are you a strong team leader or an experienced Bar Staff hungry for a fresh challenge in a rapidly growing venue? We are on an exciting mission to build a community, drive our guest/clients satisfaction and our weekly sales. We need a highly commercial, guests/clients-focused Team Leader to help us smash targets and build relationships with repeat guests/clients. While your primary home will be The Square Tavern, this role offers the unique variety of occasionally working at our sister site, The Stag in Chorleywood, to support the wider group. This is the perfect platform for motivated individuals seeking a management position in the near future within a vibrant hospitality environment.

In return, you will receive a great starting salary + PAID OVERTIME available during our busy private events and venue hires. Equitable Tronc Scheme: 100% of the pot is shared amongst the team, and your Birthday Off in addition to your 28-day holiday per year.

You will be the heartbeat of the pub floor during service. We need someone who can lead from the front, manage the rush of our busy Thursday and Friday crowds, and actively drive sales by promoting our premium drinks and elevated food menu. You will be hands-on with service, cashing up, motivating a small team, and taking the lead on training our new recruits—giving you the perfect platform to grow into a Supervisor role in the near future.

What We Need

  • FOH Experience: Serious experience running shifts in a busy, premium pub or events hospitality environment. Handle all enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring guests/clients satisfaction at all times.
  • Strong Leadership: A leader who leads by example with a "first in, last out" mentality. Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in food and beverage preparation, serving, tills and cleaning within the establishment. Manage team schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to maintain efficient operations.
  • A Sales Champion: Someone who naturally upsells, engages with guests, and knows how to maximise spend-per-head without compromising on authentic hospitality.
  • A Natural Coach: You must be passionate about developing others, with the patience and skill to train junior and entry-level staff to ensure our premium standards are met across the board. A forever team player with a cool head under pressure and excellent communication skills.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols, lisencing and allergens. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage practices.
  • Collaborate: Work with management to implement necessary operational improvements and optimise workflow efficiency.

Skills

  • Proven supervising experience within a busy pub, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in food production and kitchen operations would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with staff and guests/clients professionally.
  • Previous experience in restaurant service or hospitality roles such as serving or barista work is advantageous.
  • This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a management position in the near future within a vibrant hospitality environment where their skills can make a significant impact on both team performance and guests/clients satisfaction.
