Full job description

Wetherby Whaler Wetherby is seeking a dedicated Takeaway and Kitchen Team Member to join our dynamic team working in either of our departments, such as Kitchen & Takeaway or Restaurant. As a Team Member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service and contributing to the overall success of our establishment.

Duties
- Assist customers in selecting menu items and upselling additional products
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation and maintaining cleanliness
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver efficient service
- Help maintain a tidy and organised takeaway area

  • Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
  • Engage with customers to provide excellent service, including upselling menu items to enhance their dining experience.
  • Help colleagues during busy periods, demonstrating teamwork and a positive attitude.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely service and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Perform basic maths tasks for accurate order taking and cash handling when necessary.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
  • Ability to upsell products effectively, enhancing customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices within a restaurant environment.

This role is suited to an individual with previous kitchen and takeaway experience, who is confident working in a fast- paced food service environment. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires availability to cover a range of shifts, including days, evenings and at least one weekend day.
