About The White Hart
The White Hart is a traditional, family-friendly, food-led British pub in Harlington.
We are a family-run business with a strong focus on freshly prepared food, genuine hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both our local customers and visitors from around the world.
Being close to Heathrow, we welcome a wide range of customers, including local families, regulars, business travellers and international visitors looking for an authentic British pub experience.
We are looking for a Floor Supervisor who can help us deliver a consistently excellent customer experience while leading and supporting the team on shift.
As Floor Supervisor, you will be one of the key people responsible for the smooth running of the pub during your shift.
You will lead by example, making sure our customers receive relaxed, informal and professional service while ensuring our standards are maintained.
We want someone who is confident enough to lead a team but approachable enough that staff feel comfortable asking for help.
You will be expected to use your initiative, solve problems and make sensible decisions without needing to be told what to do at every stage.
What You'll Be Doing
Customer Experience
- Give every customer a genuine, warm welcome.
- Understand what customers are looking for and adapt your service accordingly.
- Ensure food and drinks are delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain our relaxed, informal and professional service style.
- Regularly check back with customers to make sure they are happy.
- Deal with customer questions and complaints calmly and professionally.
- Look for opportunities to improve the customer experience.
- Make sure customers are thanked and welcomed back.
Leading the Floor
- Lead and support the team during service.
- Allocate sections and responsibilities where required.
- Make sure staff are attentive to customers and not simply waiting for instructions.
- Monitor service throughout the shift.
- Ensure tables are cleared, cleaned and reset promptly.
- Make sure cutlery, napkins, sauces and condiments are available.
- Support the team during busy periods.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams.
- Keep the manager informed of any important issues.
Food & Service Standards
We are a food-led pub and take pride in serving freshly prepared food.
You will help ensure:
- Food is served to the correct table.
- Presentation and quality are checked.
- Allergens and dietary requirements are handled correctly.
- Delays are communicated to customers.
- Missing items are dealt with quickly.
- Customers receive everything they need without having to repeatedly ask.
If the kitchen is running behind, you should take ownership of the situation: speak to the kitchen team, obtain an estimated waiting time and reassure the customer.
Developing the Team
You will help new and existing employees understand how we operate.
This includes:
- Leading by example.
- Supporting new employees during their induction.
- Helping staff understand our service cycle.
- Encouraging good customer service.
- Giving constructive feedback.
- Ensuring staff follow company procedures.
- Supporting completion of required training.
We want our employees to be themselves while delivering the White Hart standard.
Our Service Style
We don't want robotic or scripted service.
We want genuine hospitality.
Our approach is:
Warm welcome → Find out what the customer wants → Look after them → Check back → Clear and reset → Offer desserts/drinks → Take payment when they're ready → Thank them and invite them back.
The Floor Supervisor plays an important role in making sure this happens naturally throughout the shift.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous hospitality experience.
- Has experience supervising or leading a team, or is ready to take the next step.
- Has excellent customer service skills.
- Is confident speaking to customers.
- Can remain calm and organised during busy services.
- Has good food and drink knowledge, or is keen to learn.
- Understands the importance of teamwork.
- Takes pride in presentation and cleanliness.
- Has good attention to detail.
- Can use their initiative.
- Is reliable, responsible and professional.
Experience in a food-led pub, restaurant or similar hospitality environment would be an advantage.
More Than Just a Job
We have a number of young employees and university students within our team, and we believe hospitality provides valuable skills that can be taken into any future career.
As a supervisor, you will have the opportunity to develop:
- Leadership skills
- Communication skills

- FLOW Online Training
- Opportunity to progress within the business
- A friendly and supportive working environment
- The opportunity to work in a genuine traditional British pub
Most Importantly

If you can bring your own personality to work while helping us maintain the standards of the White Hart, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 45.0 per week
Benefits:
