Job description
About us
At Wiltshire Police, we are dedicated to making our community a safer place for everyone. Our team is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and service. We believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every member can thrive and make a meaningful impact. Whether you’re just starting your career or looking to advance, Wiltshire Police offers a range of opportunities to grow and develop. Join us, and be part of a team that values courage, compassion, and dedication to public service. Help us to keep Wiltshire safe.
Wiltshire has lots of layers - prehistoric stones, wartime bunkers, secret trails and hidden churches. But behind all of that, keeping our community safe across the years are generations of quiet police work. Some of it heroic, some of it worrying, but all of it real.
We’re proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer, and we’re committed to building an inclusive, diverse community that celebrates and welcomes everyone.
If there are any adjustments we could make to the recruitment and selection process to support you, please let us know.
About the role
Wiltshire Police is seeking an experienced and passionate Culture & Inclusion People Partner to help drive positive organisational change, strengthen workforce culture and ensure we continue to deliver a fair, inclusive and high-performing service for our communities.
This is a unique opportunity to influence culture at a strategic level whilst working closely with leaders, staff networks, operational teams, community partners and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
As a key member of the Culture & Inclusion Team, you will support the delivery of our Culture, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and play a leading role in embedding inclusive practices across the organisation.
If you are an experienced culture, organisational development, HR, ED&I or change professional who is passionate about creating inclusive workplaces and delivering meaningful change, we would love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will:
Act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Lead and coordinate strategic programmes including the Police Race Action Plan and Culture & Inclusion Maturity Matrix.
Support compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty.
Provide specialist advice and challenge to senior leaders and managers.
Lead the development and implementation of Equality Impact Assessments.
Work with staff networks, community groups and partners to improve trust, confidence and belonging.
Deliver meaningful insights through workforce data analysis and reporting.
Manage and develop the Culture & Inclusion, Positive Action and Multi-Faith Chaplaincy teams.
Deputise for the Head of Culture & Inclusion where required.
What We’re Looking For
Significant experience delivering equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives within a complex organisation.
CIPD level 5 qualification
Strong knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, Public Sector Equality Duty and associated legislation.
Experience of developing organisational strategies, action plans and performance measures.
Experience leading Equality Impact Assessments and managing organisational risk.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into meaningful insight and action.
Why Join Us?
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the culture of policing across Wiltshire and Swindon.
You will help shape organisational culture, improve workforce experience, strengthen community confidence and support the delivery of nationally significant programmes that contribute to fair and effective policing.
Be part of building a culture where everyone can thrive and where policing reflects and serves all our communities.
What we offer
Depending on the number of applications received, we reserve the right to close this role early.
We are proud of being a truly inclusive organisation who provides fair and equal consideration to all of our applicants. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, nationalities, disabilities, sexual orientation, religions or beliefs and of neuro divergence.
