We are seeking 2 Housekeepers for this role.

first role - 5 days 25 hours

Second role - Weekend 10hours

Before applying for this job role please note our address is The Old House at Home, Burton, SN147LT. We do not have any bus routes through our village, driving licence would be essential.

£12.71 hourly rate with gratuities on top.

Job Overview:

Our housekeepers are responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms, public areas, and facilities to a high standard. The role involves ensuring that all rooms meet the hotel’s cleanliness and guest satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Clean guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Change bed linens and replace towels, toiletries, and other amenities.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and other surfaces.
  • Ensure the room is stocked with all necessary items (e.g., toiletries, coffee, water bottles).
  • Report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, plumbing problems) to the supervisor.
  • Public Area Maintenance:
  • Maintain the cleanliness of public areas such as corridors, lobbies, and restrooms.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum common spaces.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Ensure the room is properly equipped with linens, towels, and amenities.
  • Report any missing or damaged items to the supervisor.
  • Guest Interaction:
  • Assist guests with any requests regarding room needs.
  • Respond to guest complaints or special requests promptly and politely.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure rooms meet hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • General Duties:
  • Follow daily cleaning schedules and prioritize room assignments.
  • Ensure rooms are ready for new guests or check-outs.
  • Maintain a positive and professional appearance and attitude.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and carry heavy items such as bedding and cleaning equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong focus on cleanliness and an eye for small details.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to clean multiple rooms within a set period.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Teamwork: Works well with other hotel staff to ensure the overall satisfaction of guests.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role is an advantage but not always required.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Understanding of basic health and safety procedures, including the safe handling of cleaning products.
