Location: The Orwell - IP9 2AE

Shift Pattern: 5 days per week - 9am until 5pm - Alternative weekends

Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Housekeeper in a vibrant residential care home environment! In this vital role, you will be the cornerstone of creating a clean, safe, and welcoming space for residents and staff alike. Your attention to detail and commitment to hygiene will ensure that the care home maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across all resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and kitchens to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment to sanitize surfaces, floors, windows, and furniture efficiently.
  • Maintain organized storage of cleaning supplies and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Follow established health and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management for swift resolution.
  • Support the overall cleanliness of the facility by participating in deep cleaning projects and special sanitation procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles; experience in hospital or healthcare settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety procedures relevant to residential or healthcare environments.
  • Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and steam cleaners safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining high hygiene standards.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout shifts.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with staff members.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or evenings if required.
