Working Pattern: Morning and afternoon shifts available, up to 4 hours per day
Contract: Permanent
Reports to: Cleaning Supervisor / Cleaning Manager
Location: Herne Bay High School

Job Purpose

To provide a consistently high standard of cleaning throughout Herne Bay High School, ensuring that classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, communal areas and other school facilities are clean, hygienic, safe and ready for use by students, staff and visitors.

We are looking for reliable, hardworking and flexible individuals who take pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming school environment.

Morning and afternoon working patterns are available, with shifts of up to 4 hours per day and contracts of up to 20 hours per week. Exact working patterns will be discussed with successful candidates based on the needs of the school.

As part of our recruitment process, shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a trial shift/morning. This provides an opportunity for you to experience the role and working environment, meet members of the team and demonstrate your approach to the practical requirements of the position. It also allows both you and the school to consider whether the role and working arrangements are a good fit.

To maintain a clean and hygienic environment within designated areas of the school.

Daily duties may include:

  • Following appropriate procedures when dealing with bodily fluids or other potentially hazardous substances.
  • Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.

5. Supporting the School Environment

  • Maintaining a professional, polite and respectful approach when interacting with students, staff, visitors and colleagues.
