Salary: £13.50 - 13.50 per hour

Our client a local town council are seeking a caretaker to join their team on a full time temp ongoing basis.

What we offer:

  • £13.50 per hour.
  • Monday - Friday & weekends - Varies depending on events.

The role:

  • To maintain in a safe and serviceable condition all equipment, machinery and other appliances provided for the proper execution of the duties involved, reporting any failures of such equipment that cannot be readily rectified to the Operations Manager.
  • To assist with special events such as Civic Services and responsibilities, Mayor Choosing, Honey Fair, Mayfest, Halloween and Christmas Festivities.
  • Monthlyreading and recording of various utilities meters.
  • To carry out other duties and tasks as requested by the Operations Manager, commensurate with the post.
  • To maintain defibrillators on a monthly basis, checking the box for any defects etc.
  • To be the designated first aider for the Town Council building.
  • To be the designated premises supervisor and work alongside the Town Clerk, arrange premises licence and authorise the sale of alcohol for bookings and events as appropriate.
  • To support community events, working alongside the councillors, dealing with planning, accounts sheets and overseeing the setup of such events.
  • To perform various cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning Town Hall complex (including offices).
  • Keep all toilets clean and well-maintained as this is an important aspect of this role in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for anyone that uses council facilities.
  • To clean all Town Hall toilets and public conveniences (on a daily basis) as part of your duties. This includes cleaning and disinfecting toilet bowls, sinks, mirrors and floors, as well as re-stocking toilet paper, soap dispensers and other supplies as and when needed.
  • Empty bins, clean windows (inside and out), sanitise public areas and surfaces daily and ensuring the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the Town Hall.

Requirements:

  • In date enhanced DBS or on the updating service.
