Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Glazier/Window Fitter to join our growing team.

You will be meeting clients and customers daily, so good spoken English and strong communication skills are required. You must also have a smartphone and be comfortable using it to communicate, receive job information and submit job reports.

The role will involve a mixture of glazing repairs, window and door installations, replacement glass units, hardware repairs and other associated glazing works.

Successful candidates will be carrying out works in domestic and commercial properties, sometimes working unsupervised. Applicants must be capable of using their own initiative, diagnosing faults, problem-solving and completing work safely, tidily and to a high standard.

You must be professional, reliable, resourceful and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Salary
Option 1 - Employed
£35,000 – £42,000 per annum (To be discussed at interview, depending on experience.)

Option 2 - Self Employed
£160 – £220 per day (To be discussed at interview, depending on experience.)

Job Type
Full-time, permanent position.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday (07:00 – 16:00)

*Weekend work is available

Location
Based from RM4, Abridge, with work carried out across London, Essex and other parts of the UK.

Duties Include

• Replacing single and double-glazed units
• Carrying out glazing repairs to windows and doors
• Replacing window and door locks, hinges, handles and other hardware
• Installing UPVC windows and doors
• Fitting mirrors and glass splashbacks
• Installing shower screens and glass partitions
• Replacing polycarbonate roofing
• Installing and repairing shopfront glazing
• Diagnosing glazing and window hardware faults
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Maintaining a professional and courteous manner with customers
• Other associated glazing and window-fitting works

Skills Required

• Minimum five years’ experience as a glazier or window fitter
• Good knowledge of UPVC window and door installation
• Ability to diagnose and carry out glazing and hardware repairs
• High standard of workmanship
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong work ethic
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Sound knowledge of health and safety
• Tidy and respectful when working in customers’ properties
• Professional attitude

• Full UK driving licence
• Minimum five years’ glazing and/or window-fitting experience
• References required
