We are seeking a skilled, self employed Fitter to join our dynamic team in Gilberdyke, Hull, East Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and fitting components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately.
• Use various hand tools and machinery to fit parts together, ensuring precision and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to optimise workflow and maintain production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any fitting issues that may arise during the assembly process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a modular building fitter or in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery relevant to fitting tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot fitting issues effectively.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in engineering or mechanical fitting are advantageous but not essential.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking the fitting out of modular units which includes:

• Vinyl Floor laying
• Welding
• Fitting UPVC windows
• Fitting Aluminium Windows
• Measuring and fitting studded walls, panelling & doorways
• Building and fitting base units
• Plaster boarding

Modular experience (Desirable but not essential).

Free/Onsite parking. Some site work available at higher rates, if desired.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent on a self employed basis.
