Lead Window and Door Installer

Location: Wadebridge, Cornwall
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:00pm (42.5 hours per week)
Reporting to: Branch Manager

Take the lead with Camel Glass

Are you an experienced window and door installer who takes pride in their work and enjoys tackling a challenge? Ready to take the next step in your career, lead by example and help a team deliver outstanding results?

At Camel Glass, no two projects are quite the same. From replacing windows and doors in customers' homes to working on bespoke properties, ambitious self-build projects and commercial developments, you'll take on a varied range of installations across the area served by our Wadebridge branch, from the south coast to the north coast of Cornwall.

We're looking for a skilled Lead Window and Door Installer to take responsibility for complex installations, support other fitters and maintain the high standards our customers expect.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading a team of installers, planning and coordinating jobs from start to finish.
  • Installing windows and doors in PVCu, aluminium and occasionally timber, including full replacements and making good internally and externally.
  • Working on a variety of projects, including conservatories, roof systems, fascia, soffits, balustrades and bespoke architectural glazing.
  • Solving installation challenges, carrying out repairs and providing practical solutions on site.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers during installations and explaining how to operate and maintain their new products.
  • Carrying out basic site surveys, accurate measurements, snagging checks and installation inspections.
  • Supporting and training other fitters, assistants and apprentices, sharing your knowledge and experience.
  • Ensuring work meets relevant building regulations, health and safety requirements and Camel Glass's quality standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and minimise unnecessary return visits.

What we're looking for

You'll have extensive experience in window and door installation, with the technical knowledge and confidence to take responsibility for complex jobs and lead a team.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong installation and making-good skills, with an eye for detail and a high-quality finish.
  • A good understanding of building methods, relevant regulations and site safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning and organisational skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to support colleagues, share knowledge and lead by example.
  • A reliable, positive and flexible attitude, with good timekeeping.

Why join Camel Glass?

Camel Glass is a family-owned business with more than 40 years of experience supplying and installing windows, doors and glazing solutions across Cornwall and North Devon.

Our reputation is built on honest advice, quality products and dependable service. As our Lead Installer in Wadebridge, you'll play an important role in maintaining these standards, working on varied domestic projects and supporting the development of our fitting team.

Ready to take the lead?
