Job Overview
On behalf of our client we are seeking a skilled Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation and repair of windows in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of building structures, ensuring that all fittings are secure, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. The successful applicant will work closely with other tradespeople and must be comfortable using various tools and equipment.

Duties

  • Measure and cut window frames to fit specific dimensions.
  • Install windows in accordance with building regulations and safety standards.
  • Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations.
  • Fabricate window components as needed to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Work with masonry materials when installing windows in brick or stone structures.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand installation requirements.
  • Perform plastering and painting tasks related to window installations.
  • Conduct repairs on existing windows, including sealing leaks and replacing broken glass.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals on-site to ensure project efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Window Fitter or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with masonry work is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle manual labour tasks, including lifting heavy materials.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
