Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing windows across various residential and commercial projects. Your expertise will ensure that each installation meets high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your hands-on skills to transform spaces and enhance building aesthetics.

Duties

• Measure window openings accurately to ensure precise fitting and alignment
• Install new windows using a variety of hand tools and power tools, following project specifications and safety protocols
• Remove old or damaged windows carefully to prevent damage to surrounding structures
• Seal and insulate windows properly to maximize energy efficiency and weather resistance
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate installation schedules and troubleshoot on-site challenges
• Conduct quality checks post-installation to ensure proper operation and finish standards
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly

Skills

• Proven experience in window fitting or related construction roles
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, including masonry, carpentry, plastering, and fabrication
• Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints accurately
• Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, welding, and construction painting is a plus
• Proficient in using hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, levels, and measuring devices
• Skilled in operating power tools safely and effectively in various conditions
• Experience with masonry work or working on structural elements is advantageous
• Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in construction environments

Starting Rate

£18 per hour, pushing to price work.
