Full job description

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Front of House Team Members to join us in re-opening the newly renovated and historic Tunnel House Inn.

We are building a vibrant team to honour the legacy of this much loved pub which has served the surrounding community for almost 250 years. We are currently looking for a full front of house team to join us over the course of our phased re-opening including;

- Food & drink runners

- Bartenders

- Servers

- Housekeepers

All of these roles offer an exciting opportunity to be part of a much anticipated new opening and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a traditional pub environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the smooth operation of the pub from the bar, the dining room, our bedrooms and our scenic beer garden. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is desirable, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are equally valued.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and ensure they feel comfortable from arrival to departure
  • Take accurate orders and serve food and beverages efficiently
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
  • Handle guest enquiries promptly and professionally, resolving any issues with courtesy
  • Assist with food safety procedures and adhere to health regulations at all times
  • Manage payments accurately using the POS system, including handling cash and card transactions
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front and back of house
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills during busy service periods

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not essential; a friendly personality and willingness to learn are key
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable
  • Strong guest service skills with a professional attitude
  • Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing purposes
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Experience in serving, upselling, and providing exceptional customer experiences is preferred
  • Kitchen or culinary experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure prompt service during peak hours

Renumeration

Based on age, experience and passing our training modules, you will earn up to £15.50 per hour OTE (including tips).

We will be shortlisting candidates and holding interviews from the 1st of May.
