Senior WordPress Developer

What do we need?

We’re looking for an experienced Senior WordPress Developer to join our growing development team.

This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining bespoke WordPress websites and web applications while mentoring junior developers and working closely with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll be expected to take ownership of projects, contribute to technical strategy and help drive the adoption of AI-assisted development across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of bespoke WordPress websites and applications.
• Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins and Gutenberg blocks.
• Produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
• Build responsive, accessible and high-performance websites.
• Work collaboratively with designers, project managers and clients.
• Mentor and support junior developers.
• Lead technical discussions and code reviews.
• Attend client meetings and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation and AI.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical best practice.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

AI & Emerging Technologies

We’re looking for developers who are enthusiastic about the future of AI-assisted software development.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of, or a genuine interest in:

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• AI Agents and Agentic Workflows
• AI-assisted software development using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor
• Prompt engineering
• API integrations with modern AI platforms
• Workflow automation

We don’t expect applicants to be experts in every AI technology, but we’re looking for someone who’s excited to learn and help shape how AI enhances software development within our business.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll be expected to:
