General Farm Worker – Free Range Poultry Farms

We are currently recruiting a reliable and hardworking General Farm Worker to join our successful free-range poultry business.

Our farms are located near Salisbury, where we manage 27,000 free-range hens, and near Devizes, where we have 10,000 organic free-range hens.

Due to the rural locations and nature of the role, applicants must hold a full driving licence and have their own transport, as well as be flexible to work shifts across a 7-day rota.

Role Overview

Working either independently or alongside one other team member, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Checking, collecting, and packing free-range eggs ready for dispatch
  • Monitoring egg quality, grading, and stacking
  • Walking the birds daily to ensure their health and wellbeing
  • Checking feed and water supplies and recording observations
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
  • Identifying and reporting any issues promptly

You will also be expected to follow food hygiene standards and maintain high levels of animal welfare at all times.

Training & Development

Depending on your experience, there will be opportunities to train in all aspects of free-range egg production as part of a small, supportive team.

Working Hours

  • Approximate shifts: 8:00am – 1pm
  • 4–5 days per week, including weekend work on a rotating basis
  • Opportunity to work 20–35 hours per week for the right candidate

Pay

  • Starting from £13.25 per hour (for ages 23+)
  • Additional hours available depending on farm requirements
