Registered General Nurse (RGN) – Children & Adults
We Are Care Ltd

The Role
You'll deliver safe, person-centred nursing care to children, young people and adults across a variety of settings. This role suits a nurse who is confident across age groups, adapts easily to new environments and cares about good outcomes for the people they support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, carry out and review person-centred care plans for children and adults
  • Give medication safely and accurately, following NMC standards and local policies
  • Carry out clinical tasks, which may include PEG/enteral feeding, tracheostomy care, suction, catheter care, wound care and epilepsy management (training given where needed)
  • Spot changes in health or wellbeing and act quickly, escalating to GPs, specialist teams or emergency services as needed
  • Work with families, carers, multidisciplinary teams and social workers
  • Follow safeguarding procedures for both children and adults at risk
  • Keep clear, accurate and timely records
  • Support and guide healthcare assistants and support workers on shift
  • Uphold dignity, privacy, choice and independence at all times

Essential Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a current, active NMC PIN
  • At least [6/12] months' post-registration experience
  • Experience with both children/young people and adults, or strong transferable experience in one with a willingness to develop in the other
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding for children and adults
  • Enhanced DBS checked against both the Children's and Adults' Barred Lists (we can arrange this; Update Service accepted)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two professional references, one from your most recent clinical employer

Desirable

  • Experience in paediatric complex care, learning disabilities, supported living or community nursing
  • Training in PEG, tracheostomy, epilepsy/rescue medication
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
