Full job description

We are seeking someone with experience and knowledge to service our fleet of 21 forklifts at our site in South Petherton, Somerset. In this role you will be self-organising, running your own workshop to inspect, service, repair and maintain our fleet of side loading Lancer Boss forklifts.

Salary: Competitive

Location: South Petherton, Somerset

Duration: Full-Time/Permanent – 40 hours per week – Mon-Fri 8:00am-17:00pm (hours can be flexible)

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and fulfilling the maintenance and serviceability of the company forklifts
  • Closely liaising with Operations and Logistics Managers and operations staff to ensure timely and effectively planned maintenance at all times
  • Completing safety inspections of tools and equipment
  • Diagnosing faults
  • Repairing machines
  • Anticipating machine failures and preventing recurrence
  • Maintaining the workshop
  • Managing the stock of spare parts
  • Ordering parts
  • Completing written records of all maintenance activities
  • Other facilities tasks as and when required

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience with side loaders, forklifts and/or plant maintenance
  • Good mechanical, electrical and hydraulic understanding and skills
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Certificate to drive forklifts (desirable)
