We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Digital Media Technician to support the delivery of our performance programmes by providing technical expertise across digital media equipment, facilities and learning environments. This role supports students and staff working in acting, screen and digital media, helping to ensure they have access to industry-standard equipment and technical support throughout their studies.

As a key member of the Technical Services team, you'll maintain and manage a range of screen-production equipment, support video and media workflows, prepare teaching spaces, and assist with productions, events and showcases across the Institute.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

· Manage the storage, maintenance, preparation and distribution of digital media equipment including cameras, lighting, audio equipment and accessories.

· Provide first-line technical support to staff and students using digital media technologies.

· Support video editing and media-production workflows and assist with digital asset management.

· Conduct regular inspections of studios, rehearsal rooms and teaching spaces to ensure they remain safe, operational and presentation-ready.

· Support Institute productions, screenings, showcases, open days, masterclasses and events.

· Work collaboratively with academic departments, Technical Services colleagues and external suppliers.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a proactive and organised digital media professional with a passion for supporting creative learning environments. Comfortable working with both students and staff, you combine strong technical knowledge with excellent customer service skills and enjoy helping others get the most from industry-standard equipment and facilities.

You will bring:

· A degree or qualification in a relevant discipline.

· Experience maintaining and supporting digital media equipment in an educational or professional environment.

· Practical experience working with professional cinema, DSLR and mirrorless camera systems.

· Knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer.

· Strong understanding of digital media workflows, file management and media archiving.

· Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to support users of varying technical abilities.

· A proactive, customer-focused approach and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

· Experience within higher education, performing arts education, or supporting live events and productions would be advantageous.
