As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Bid Writer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the entire bid process and wants to play a key role in securing major NHS contracts.

This is primarily a home-based role, with occasional travel for meetings when required.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the complete bid lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to submission. Working closely with senior management, clinical teams and operational colleagues, you will produce high-quality, persuasive tender responses that maximise our success rate.

This is a varied role offering significant responsibility and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor new NHS tender opportunities, framework competitions and mini competitions
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring submissions are completed accurately and on time
  • Write compelling, high-quality responses for: Invitations to Tenders (ITT), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Selection Questionnaires (SQ), Mini Competitions, Capability Assessments, Framework applications
  • Take ownership of each bid from initial review through to final submission
  • Work closely with Directors, Clinical Leads, Project Managers and Business Development colleagues to develop winning proposals
  • Gather, review and maintain supporting evidence and documentation for tender submissions
  • Research procurement opportunities and attend market engagement events and bidder meetings where appropriate
  • Develop and continuously improve the company's bid library, case studies and standard responses
  • Assist with the development of company policies, governance documentation and quality management systems
  • Support ISO accreditation and ongoing compliance activities
  • Produce management reports and bid performance information
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the bid process.

About You

We are looking for an experienced NHS bid professional who is confident managing multiple complex tenders and producing exceptional written submissions.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum three years' experience writing successful NHS healthcare bids.
  • Experience managing NHS tenders from start to finish
  • Strong knowledge of NHS procurement processes, including framework agreements and mini competitions
  • Experience responding to national, regional and local NHS procurement exercises
  • A proven track record of producing successful tender submissions
  • Excellent written English with exceptional proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to write clear, persuasive and evidence-based responses
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Experience within an NHS insourcing or outsourcing provider
  • Knowledge of NHS procurement frameworks
  • Experience with quality management systems and ISO standards
  • Understanding of CQC regulations and healthcare governance.
