We are looking for a Radiographer to work as part of a team delivering a high-quality, efficient radiographic service, with a strong focus on general X-ray and image intensifier procedures. The postholder will provide safe, skilled imaging, make informed decisions about the examinations required and demonstrate a professional, caring and responsible approach at all times.

This is a cross-site role, and the postholder must be willing and able to work regularly across both LivingCare imaging sites according to service demand. The role contributes to the organisation and development of the imaging department by maintaining protocols and SOPs and delivering a high standard of diagnostic imaging and patient care. General X-ray and image intensifier work are central to the post. Experience in MRI and CT is desirable but not essential; full training can be provided in MRI for a candidate with the right core radiographic experience, aptitude and commitment to develop.

Scope and Range

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Any malfunction is reported to the Radiographer in charge.
• Any unreasonable delay in repair is brought to the attention of the Radiographer in charge.
• Any fault occurring on equipment is entered into the relevant downtime log.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

• Diploma or Degree in Radiography
• HCPC Registration
• Evidence of substantial CPD in clinically related and relevant subjects
• IV injection certificate of competence

Experience

Essential

• Substantial post-registration experience as a Radiographer in an imaging department
• Current, demonstrable competence and experience in general X-ray
• Current, demonstrable competence and experience in image intensifier procedures

Desirable

• Experience in MRI; full training can be provided
• Experience in CT
• Previous experience working in the private healthcare sector
• Previous experience of clinical audits
• Postgraduate MRI qualification
• Postgraduate CT Qualification

Knowledge and Technical Ability

Essential

• Strong professional and technical knowledge in general X-ray and image intensifier practice, supported by a degree in Radiography or equivalent qualification
• Sound knowledge of radiation safety, IR(ME)R and safe working practices relevant to general X-ray and image intensifier procedures
• Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development in relevant areas
• Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission
• Willingness and ability to undertake MRI training and develop competence in additional modalities where required

Desirable

• Coaching skills
• Evidence of success in working in partnership with Consultants
• Auditing skills across clinical standards and departments
• Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives

• Must be willing and able to work regularly across both LivingCare imaging sites, support different imaging areas and share expertise as required. A preference to work at one site must not prevent the postholder from providing cross-site cover in line with operational need.
