Nursery Teacher (Full-Time) Location: Wells, Somerset

Contract: Full-Time - 8.15 - 3.45

Start Date: September to Christmas

Are you ready to make a big impact in a small class?

Nestled in the historic city of Wells, our vibrant and welcoming primary school is looking for a passionate, creative, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to lead their wonderful pre-school class.

If you love fostering a curiosity for learning in a nurturing environment, and you thrive on collaborating with a supportive team, we want to hear from you!

What Makes This Role Special?

  • Small Class Size, Big Potential: You will be leading a close-knit class of just 12 children. This gives you the rare and brilliant opportunity to truly tailor your teaching, understand every child’s unique spark, and watch them flourish.
  • Collaborative Team Planning: You will work hand-in-hand with our fantastic Reception team, sharing ideas, resources, and planning to ensure a seamless, high-quality transition for our early years learners.
  • A Beautiful Community Setting: Based in the heart of Somerset’s smallest and most picturesque city, our school boasts excellent resources, outdoor learning spaces, and a warm, family-centered ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an engaging, play-based EYFS curriculum that inspires and challenges our 12 nursery children.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate weekly with the Reception team to co-create cohesive, exciting learning journeys.
  • Assess, track, and celebrate each child's progress, maintaining strong partnerships with parents and carers.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher holding QTS or EYTS (Early Years Teacher Status).
  • An expert in the EYFS framework with a genuine love for early years education.
  • A team player who enjoys collaborative planning and sharing best practices.
  • Someone with excellent communication skills, a warm demeanor, and a sense of fun!

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience (Main Pay Scale).
  • A small class size that allows you to actually teach and minimize administrative burnout.
  • Dedicated PPA time shared with your Reception colleagues.
  • A supportive leadership team that genuinely values work-life balance.

Pay: £140.00-£180.00 per day

Benefits:

  • Free parking
  • On-site parking

  • Can you provide references covering this experience
  • Do you have a DBS on the update service
  • Do you have recent experience working as a Pre-school leader or Nursery Teacher
  • Do you hold QTS or hold a level 4+ in Early Years
