We have an exciting new opportunity for someone to join us as a Site Cleaner/ Valeter at our Accident Repair Centre in Telford. Please note - this is a zero hour contract.

Role Title: Site Cleaner/ Car Valeter

Reporting To: Bodyshop Manager

Main Purpose of Role

To maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment while ensuring all customer, courtesy, and company vehicles are cleaned, checked, and presented to a high standard. The Cleaner/Valeter plays an important role in supporting the efficient operation of the accident repair centre by maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and ensuring repaired vehicles are professionally prepared for customer handover.

Main Tasks

Workshop Cleaning & Housekeeping

• Clean and maintain all workshop areas, including floors, workstations, offices, welfare facilities, waiting areas, and communal areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors using appropriate equipment and cleaning products.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures and environmental requirements.
• Keep walkways, entrances, exits, and fire escape routes clean, clear, and free from obstruction.
• Maintain cleanliness of staff kitchens, toilets, changing facilities, and customer reception areas where required.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, and cleaning supplies.
• Clean workshop equipment, storage areas, and work surfaces as required.
• Support the maintenance of a clean, organised, and professional working environment throughout the site.

Vehicle Cleaning & Presentation

• Wash, vacuum, clean, and polish customer, courtesy, and company vehicles using approved materials, products, and equipment.
• Prepare repaired vehicles to a high standard prior to customer handover.
• Carry out final presentation checks to ensure vehicles are returned in a clean, tidy, and presentable condition.
• Ensure vehicle interiors and exteriors are cleaned thoroughly and meet company standards before release.
• Report any issues affecting vehicle presentation, cleanliness, or condition to management.

Courtesy Car Preparation

• Clean, inspect, and prepare courtesy vehicles ready for customer collection.
• Ensure courtesy vehicles are clean, presentable, and fuelled where applicable.
• Carry out basic presentation and cleanliness checks when vehicles are returned before reissue.
• Liaise with reception and the wider team to ensure courtesy vehicles are available and prepared on time.

Site Standards & Operational Support

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the valeting area, vehicle storage areas, customer parking areas, yard, and external areas.
• Keep cleaning equipment, tools, and materials in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
• Assist with the movement of vehicles on site where authorised, trained, and insured to do so.
• Support the wider bodyshop team with general housekeeping and workshop presentation.
• Assist with cleaning up spillages and maintaining safe working conditions throughout the workshop.
• Work closely with reception, technicians, and management to ensure the site and vehicles are maintained to company standards.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Comply fully with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and machinery safely and in accordance with COSHH and manufacturer guidance.
• Wear appropriate PPE and follow safe working practices at all times.
• Report hazards, spillages, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Ensure only vehicles you are authorised, trained, and insured to move are driven.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe working environment for colleagues and customers.

Other Duties

Due to the size and complexity of the establishment, you will undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties that are deemed to be within your capability, as directed by a senior manager of the group with whom you have a reporting relationship.

Person Specification

Essential

• Good attention to detail.

• Able to carry out manual handling and physical cleaning duties.

Desirable

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or vehicle valeting experience.
• Experience working in a bodyshop, accident repair centre, workshop, dealership, or automotive environment.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of COSHH and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.
