Full job description

Job Summary

The Stores is looking for a new Head Chef to take the reins and drive us forward! We are looking for an individual with Pizza and general culinary experience and is as passionate as us for fresh, local produce. Candidates must have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food production, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations, manage staff and ensure a dynamic seasonal menu that reflects the Stores personality.

Accommodation available

Salary - £32,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and accommodation.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu planning, inventory management, and quality control.
  • Lead the team in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Develop new recipes and menu items that align with current culinary trends while considering customer preferences.
  • Ensure that all food safety protocols are strictly adhered to throughout the kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
  • Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
  • Experience in managing kitchen operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on fostering a positive work culture.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
