The Role

We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Client Services team and take ownership of a portfolio of charity clients and fundraising campaigns.

You will lead client relationships and help them to deliver exceptional supporter-led fundraising from initial planning and onboarding through campaign delivery, reporting and review. You will translate campaign performance into clear, practical advice for clients and coordinate internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and in line with agreed objectives.

You will also line-manage and develop an Account Executive, delegating work effectively while maintaining responsibility for the quality and timeliness of client delivery.

This is a varied role combining relationship management, project coordination, campaign strategy, reporting, presenting and people management.

The role includes regular client meetings, hosting events, strategy days, workshops and therefore requires occasional travel across London, the South East and elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with clients and keep in regular contact, particularly through regular online meetings and in person
  • Oversee reports to clients on the performance of their campaign, being a point of contact for clients throughout the set up, live and review period
  • Communicate effectively between clients, the client services team and other internal teams
  • End to end project management of campaigns; set ups, running campaigns and review.
  • Work as a team to effectively manage, develop and support the Account Executive while delivering client projects on time and on budget and with the exceptional supporter-led fundraising that Return Fundraising is known
  • Networking, learning more about the fundraising sector and helping to organise and participate in workshops and events for clients
  • Administrative support to the team as required, including preparing minutes and agendas, campaign reviews and event preparations
  • Support as required within the Client Services Team, including hosting events and reviews, being a point of escalation and co-ordinating new business enquiries

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of project or account management
  • Ability to be flexible; respond positively to change and use your initiative
  • Organised, self motivated and a desire to grow within the Client Services team
  • Work effectively under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Self starter who takes responsibility for their own work and actions.
  • Provides evidence of effective IT skills
  • Attention to detail to enable production of high quality documentation such as agendas, presentations and proposals.

Desirable:

  • Experience of telephone, face-to-face, or individual-giving fundraising.
  • Experience of developing strong relationships with clients and proactively keeping in regular contact, particularly by phone and in person
  • Experience of managing or leading a team
  • Demonstrable experience of negotiating with clients and colleagues about the details of campaigns
  • Experience of presenting, public speaking or hosting events

Measures of Success:

  • Client satisfaction, retention and account development.
  • Progress against agreed campaign objectives and performance indicators.
  • The development, performance and engagement of the Account Executive.
  • Positive feedback from clients and internal teams.
  • Effective collaboration across Client Services, Fundraising, Data and Operations.

Key Relationships:

  • Client Services Director
  • Account Executive

  • Hybrid working with flexible working from home and office days
  • 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising 1 day per year up to 30 days
  • Home working equipment including monitor, laptop and keyboard
  • Pension contribution of 3%
  • A small business environment where you can make quick decisions and grow within the Client Services Team
