Full job description

A busy accounting firm based in Northeast London is seeking a finalist or qualified ACCA/ACA accountant with at least three years of experience in public practice.

The main duties and responsibilities for this semi-senior or senior accountant are as follows:

  • Managing a portfolio of small-to-medium-sized business clients and handling all accounting and tax requirements
  • Preparing statutory audit and non-audit accounts for Limited companies, Sole traders, and partnerships
  • Collating information and completing personal tax returns, P11Ds and corporation tax computations
  • Preparing and overseeing quarterly MTD VAT returns and MTD IT and submitting to HMRC
  • Preparing and overseeing clients’ payroll and auto-enrollment, and submitting PAYE returns
  • Building and maintaining close relationships with clients in English and Chinese
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of junior or semi-senior members of staff
  • Assisting Partners with HMRC tax investigation, compliance checks and tax inquiries
  • Being involved in the accounting practice sector and promoting our services to the market.

The key requirements for this role are:

  • Finalist or ACCA/ACA qualified
  • At least three years of public practice experience
  • University graduate in accounting, finance or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese is essential
  • Well motivated, enthusiastic and able to work to a deadline
  • Improving administrative processes to maximise office efficiency
  • Strong experience in cloud-based accounting software Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Excel, etc.
  • Client-focused with the ability to communicate with clients clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
