Full job description

Business Support Income Maximisation Officer

Job description
We are recruiting an enthusiastic individual to join our Housing Advice and Homelessness Service. This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and dedicated team.

The role involves providing assistance and advice to members of the public who are struggling with their finances, including information on benefit entitlement and budgeting as well as preventing homelessness due to rent arrears. The successful candidate will also deliver our tenancy sustainment workshop.

We are constantly looking for ways to improve the service we provide. Whoever joins us will need imagination and drive to shape service delivery going forward.

If you are a confident and compassionate individual who has initiative and the relevant experience, we would like to hear from you.

South Cambridgeshire District Council is a four-day week employer. We expect our colleagues to get 100% of their work done, in around 85% of their contracted hours, for 100% of their pay. All Council staff will be able to opt-in to this way of working under a Productivity Policy. We are a four-day week employer as it helps us attract and keep talented colleagues and improves services by reducing our reliance on costly agency workers. It also supports improved health and wellbeing.

Please note, this role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

If you would like an informal discussion regarding this vacancy, please contact Susan Tuffnell, susan.tuffnell@scambs.gov.uk

Closing Date: 9am 12 January 2026
Interview Date: To be confirmed
